A two part video chronicling my two and a half month painting painting journey from Sicily to Emilia Romagna with a focus on southern Italy. The first part recounts the experiences of the painting group I led for two weeks in Sicily. The second part tells the story of the two month journey from Sicily up the Italian peninsula with my wife, Beryl Landau. Places of special interest were Cefalu, Matera, Ostuni and L’Aquila.

In May and June of 2014, artists Anthony Holdsworth and Beryl Landau painted and traveled from Sicily to northern Italy. The final two weeks, students joined Anthony for a painting workshop on a farm near Florence.This video offers an intimate glimpse of the rich and varied culture of Italy through photos, paintings and live video. The soundtrack features enchanting music donated by Al Fabrizio, Hugo Wainzinger and Luz Gaxiola, as well as ambient sound and music recorded on location. Relax in front of a large screen with a glass of wine and take a vicarious journey through Sicily, the Aeolian islands, Naples, Rome, Emilia-Romagna and Tuscany. Anthony Holdsworth lived in Florence for a year and a half after the flood of '66. He worked as Head of Outdoor Restoration for the Ufizzi. He and Beryl Landau have taken many painting trips to Italy.
